Key Features

All about Digi-Wave wireless communication system.

A Digi-Wave system consists of at least one transceiver (DLT 400) and various combinations of transceivers and receivers (DLR 400 RCH or DLR 400 ALK). Combinations of one or more DLT’s and DLR’s can be used to facilitate different events, depending on what needs to be spoken and what needs to be heard. The Digi-Wave communication system allows users to listen and talk to one another wirelessly in a variety of scenarios such as:

Guided Tours - with one or more tour guides (2-way), with audience participation (2-way), or without audience participation (1-way). Tour mode is best suited when one or two people are leading a large group. The tour group mode can be configured to only listen to the leader(s) of the group, such as on a museum tour. Alternatively, this mode allows people with a transceiver to speak, which may be useful for tours through noisy areas where hearing may be difficult, such as factory tours.

Language Interpretation - one or more interpreted languages transmitted to audience (1-way). Interpretation mode is best suited when dealing with multiple, simultaneous audio feeds. In normal interpretation mode, an interpreter may be translating a speech given in Spanish into English, a group of interpreters may be translating a speech in English into several languages. Up to 14 languages and the floor may be broadcast on the Digi-Wave system at one time.

Hearing Assistance - featuring boosted audio for improved comprehension. Hearing Assistance mode is appropriate when using the device to amplify spoken communication between users. The Tone Control in Hearing Assistance mode is automatically elevated, allowing the user to hear more clearly. Users with transceivers can be allowed to speak, which may be useful in a classroom setting.

Intercom - with up to six people able to speak simultaneously, and even more listening. Intercom mode is appropriate when a group of up to 6 people all need to talk to and hear one another. It may be used behind the stage to manage a large theater production, or for a security team at a club.

The DLT 400 Transceiver featuring full-duplex capability, is slim, lightweight, and simple to set up and use. One- or two-way operation offers flexibility in a vast array of applications. The transceiver can operate 15 simultaneous channels in a group, support 4 simultaneous groups in two-way mode, allow a maximum of 4 simultaneous talkers in Interpreter Mode, and a maximum of 6 simultaneous talkers in Intercom Mode. With the push of a button, users can access two-way communication for immediate interaction or Q&A. The DLT 400 is capable of transmitting signals up to 900 ft (depending upon environmental conditions) to other DLT 400 transceivers and/or DLR-400 receivers. Operating on the 2.4GHz ISM band the DLT 400 has a high resistance to RF interference and can be used in most countries around the world. Patented frequency-hopping software greatly reduces interference potential. An LCD displays current set-up, battery life, time and RF strength.Click to enlarge All controls are on the front panel and also provide access to change set-up. The DLT 400 transceiver is equipped with a built-in speaker and microphone. A 3.5 mm TRRS jack can accommodate external microphones and/or headset microphones. A variety of single and dual muff headset microphone are available (see A La Carte Menu). It has a built-in Lithium Polymer rechargeable battery with up to 16 hours talk time per five (5) hour charge. Each DLT includes a charger but it can also be charged with any USB-C charger (see chargers below).

DLR 400 Receivers: The Digi-Wave 400 series offers two easy to use receiver styles: DLR 400 ALK on left requires two disposable alkaline batteries while the DLR 400 RCH on right has built-in rechargeable batteries. The DLR 400 RCH is the same physical size as the DLT 400 and therefore also can use the same USB-C chargers. Both receivers share the same features in terms of functionality and are capable of receiving digital signals up to 900 ft away depending upon environmental conditions. The DLR 400 receivers are very simple to set up and use. A large LCD display shows channel, volume, battery level and RF signal strength. They can receive up to four presenters simultaneously during team presentations and can be used with earphones, headphones, neckloop or the built-in speaker. Other features include automatic mode selection and shut-off. CHG 412 PRO charger The Auto Sleep Mode will power the unit off after 5 minutes of no RF signal from compatible devices. There is no limit to how many receivers can be added to a group as long as they are in range of the DLT 400 transceiver(s).

Optional Chargers: The CHG 412 12-bay drop-in desktop charger (below, left) can charge any combination of DLT 400 and DLR 400 RCH units over the course of a five-hour time span. It is also available CHG 412 charger CHG 404 chargerin a CHG 412 PRO version (right) built into a carry case so it conveniently can store and charge a complete system with 12 units and accessories. Optional chargers include the CHG 404 4-unit charger (left) which include USB-C type charging cables. Although all DLT 400 transceivers are supplied with individual USB-C chargers, the optional charger may be more convenient for applications where two or more DLT's are being used on a daily basis.
